The winners of the Green Earth Book Award were recently announced. Given by the Newton Marasco Foundation in partnership with Salisbury University, this award promotes books that inspire a child to grow a deeper appreciation, respect and responsibility for his or her natural environment. The Carbon Diaries is the only one of these I've read. It was a fascinating read--I'm not sure how much I actually enjoyed it, but it sure was thought provoking. The sequel comes out next week...
ReplyDeleteI heard about this prize, but I don't know any of the winners - I guess because they were published in the US. I'll have to see which ones I can track down overhere. I like the look of Book Links too - thanks for enabling me to discover it!
ReplyDeleteWOOT for The Carbon Diaries! I had to go sit in the cry room during the Cybils because it didn't make the cut for our final five, but once I got into it, I found it intriguing.
