The Halloween Costume and a Bit of History
Halloween is big for William, though it's never been one of my favorite holidays. I'll admit that I have had a great deal of fun while sharing in the costume-making each year. Here's a bit of Halloween history.
Kindergarten (06) - Thomas the Tank Engine
First Grade (07) - Spider
Second Grade (08) - Vampire Third Grade (09) - Bird
It's fun to watch him change - he got his inspiration from more concrete sources early on, and now he's branching out on his own.
I have to say, I'm not that fond of Halloween, either (and we seem to zoom right into Christmas the next day), as it seems to promote kind of a "gimme," feel, but costuming is so much fun. I keep thinking we need to come up with another big holiday that encourages the imaginative dressing...
