Hi There! Remember me? No, you probably don't. I'll admit it's been a while. When life gives you lemons, you make lemonade. What you don't do is blog. I'm trying hard to get back in the swing of things, so I hope you'll come back and visit. Today I'm sharing a lovely poem and an update on my early posts from this first week of April.
In Praise of My Bed
By Meredith Holmes
At last I can be with you!
The grinding hours
since I left your side!
The labor of being fully human,
working my opposable thumb,
talking, and walking upright.
Read the poem in its entirety.
If you haven't been here in a while, I should tell you that I am finally back to blogging. In honor of National Poetry Month I am posting every day about using poetry in the classroom. Here are the topics I covered in the last week. I do hope you'll stop by and check them out.
1 - A Red Wheelbarrow, LOVE THAT DOG, and Williams
2 - Of Castles and Commoners
3 - Math and Poetry
4 - Crazy for Insects
5 - The Trip Around the Sun
6 - Down on the Farm
7 - Life in the Sea
The round up is being hosted by Madigan at Madigan Reads. Do take some time to enjoy all the terrific posts this week. Before you go, be sure to check out this week's poetry stretch results. Happy poetry Friday all!
Welcome back. Hope the lemons have slowed down at least.
