The winners of the Green Earth Book Award were recently announced. Given by the Newton Marasco Foundation in partnership with Salisbury University, this award recognizes books that inspire children and young adults to appreciate and care for the natural environment. Thanks so much for posting this list! I didn't even know this award existed (I know, bad librarian, bad) and both my husband and I are "green" obsessed. We plan to teach our children just how to live a responsible life in a "non-green" world. I'm checking ALL of these out!

ReplyDeleteThis is a great event that I went to last year. It is held in conjunction with Salisbury University's Childrens Literature Festival in Salisbury, Maryland. Had the opportunity to meet authors and attend panel discussions for free. It is held in April. Definately worthwhile!
ReplyDeleteThe Children's Literature Festival at Salisbury University will be held April 15-16. In addition to the award winners who are able to attend this year's Festival Betsy Lewin (Click Clack Moo) Ted Lewin (Peppe the Lamplighter), Holly Black (Spiderwick Chronicles), and Phillip Hoose (We Were There Too) will be there. The animated version of Varmints will be screened (if you haven't seen the trailer visit http://www.studioaka.co.uk/go/varmints/)and much more. All free.
